Taylor Sheridan and Joe Rogan Expose Societal Polarization: Work Ethic, Masculinity, and the Battle of Ideologies

“Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan recently joined podcaster Joe Rogan to discuss how certain social activists have contributed to the polarization of the country by vilifying qualities such as work ethic and masculinity. During their conversation, Sheridan referenced the famous poem “If I were the Devil,” written and popularized by national radio commentator Paul Harvey in the mid-1960s.

The poem explores how Satan, symbolizing corruption, would subvert American culture, and Sheridan emphasized the relevance of its observations to current societal trends.

After playing a version of the poem, Rogan expressed agreement, stating, “Wow, April 3rd, 1965. Paul Harvey nailed it.” Sheridan noted that while the Devil can be used as a euphemism for various influences, the ultimate outcome remains the same, and these trends are evident today. “You can use the Devil as a euphemism for anything that you want, but the result is the same.
